What’s New in Timer for Mac, Version 10
The following information refers to the upcoming version 10 of Timer for Mac, which has not yet been released.
Greater Reliability for Timers and Alarms
We’ve enhanced the “Test” button to give you complete peace of mind. Now, when you try out a final action, you won’t just hear a preview—you’ll actually run a real simulation of what will happen when the timer expires. The biggest improvement is our new safety system: if, for any reason, the chosen action (such as playing a music track) cannot be executed, there will no longer be a risk of silence. Instead, the app will play a clear notification sound, ensuring you always receive an alert. Test your alarms with confidence: now you can count on rock-solid reliability.
More Personalization for Your Alarm Experience
You can now personalize your alarm experience like never before. When selecting a sound for your timer or alarm, you’ll see a new volume control directly in the menu. This allows you to adjust sound intensity quickly and easily, making sure every notification is exactly how you want it.
More Versatile and Engaging Sounds
We’ve enriched the sound experience with new customization options. You can now choose how many times the selected sound should play, from a single playback up to five consecutive repetitions. And for those who enjoy variety, we’ve added a “Random” option that automatically picks a different sound for each notification, turning every alarm into a little surprise and keeping the experience fresh and engaging.
Accurate Timers and Stopwatches, Even with System Clock Changes
Timers and Stopwatches are now completely immune to system clock changes. Whether you manually adjust your Mac’s time, switch time zones, or daylight savings kicks in, both will continue tracking real elapsed time without interruptions or inaccuracies. This innovation ensures that every timer session and stopwatch measurement is 100% reliable, no matter what happens with the system clock.
Quick Input Menu for Timers
We’ve revolutionized timer setup with a new system using the star menu next to the timer. It automatically saves recently used times and offers common presets (1 min, 5 min, 1 hour, etc.). With just one click, you can reuse your favorite timers without having to manually reset hours, minutes, and seconds every time.
Log System
The log system is now more complete and functional, featuring all real module data and professional localization. Each time you use the “Log Now” function, a block will be added with the current status, including all components in full detail.
